Sad news has come in from Karachi where veteran TV actor Shabbir Rana has passed away after battling a prolonged illness. The 69-year-old actor had been suffering from heart problems and had undergone a bypass surgery a few years ago.
His death has left his fans and colleagues in shock and mourning. His funeral prayer will be offered at Rahmaniya Masjid Tariq Road after Asr prayers. The news of his demise has left a void in the entertainment industry that will be hard to fill. The veteran actor will always be remembered for his contribution to the field of acting and directing in Pakistan.
Shabbir Rana was a well-known name in the advertising industry and had directed numerous TV commercials before joining the drama industry as an actor. He had a personal admiration for legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, whose acting style he tried to emulate. As a character actor, Shabbir Rana appeared in several successful TV serials of private channels.
